No. All SK8Lytz use non-permanent mounting with no drilling. CLIPZ clips on in seconds. GLOWZ, HALOZ and SOULZ mount with an elastic strap under the plate (SOULZ adds 27 custom clips). RAILZ slides its integrated mounting tabs between plate and boot and mounts the control unit with an elastic strap.

Tighten the elastic strap. It should be very tight. Add the included double-sided tape or velcro between the unit and the plate. This is highly recommended for aggressive skaters.

Update the Points setting to match how many LEDs are left after cutting (leave Segments at 1). Also check that the strip was cut on the copper pads and the connector is fully seated.

No. SK8Lytz are not waterproof and are designed for indoor use only.

CLIPZ is the easiest. It clips onto your heel in seconds, no tools required. For rechargeable options, GLOWZ and HALOZ are both rated Easy using a simple under-plate elastic strap. RAILZ is rated Moderate (no cutting required). SOULZ and CUSTOMZ are rated Advanced.

CLIPZ is the easiest gift: no charging, clips on in seconds, starting from $12. GLOWZ is the best beginner rechargeable, with an IR remote and 16 solid colors. HALOZ is best for someone who wants app control and music-reactive ARGB effects without a complex install.

HALOZ, RAILZ, CUSTOMZ and SOULZ all use the free ZENGGE app (iOS and Android) for Bluetooth control, plus include an RF 2.4GHz remote as a no-phone backup. CLIPZ needs no app. GLOWZ uses an included IR remote.

Perimeter strips (SOULZ, RAILZ) run along the plate edges for full 360° underglow, the most dramatic look. Modular pucks (HALOZ, GLOWZ) mount under the plate center for a bright halo effect. Pucks are easier to install; strips give significantly more coverage.

Both are pucks under the plate with the same elastic strap, rated Easy. GLOWZ has 16 fixed solid colors and an IR remote, with no app. HALOZ has 100+ ARGB modes, Bluetooth ZENGGE app control, an RF 2.4GHz remote and music-reactive animation. HALOZ is the step up for app control and dynamic effects.

HALOZ is a modular puck under the plate center, the easiest app-enabled install. RAILZ uses side bars along the boot and plate edges for a dramatic side-glow, with no cutting, rated Moderate. SOULZ is the flagship: a 56-inch full perimeter strip for maximum 360° underglow, rated Advanced. All three use the ZENGGE app and RF remote, and are music reactive.

SOULZ. Its 56-inch diffused ARGB silicone strip wraps the entire plate for complete 360° underglow. RAILZ covers the sides of the boot and plate. HALOZ and GLOWZ are center pucks with a bright central halo. CLIPZ covers the heels only.

• Make sure Bluetooth is on and the unit is powered on and charged. No pairing is needed, since SK8Lytz use Bluetooth mesh.
• Stand close to the skates and refresh the device list.
• Use the latest version of the ZENGGE app, then force close and reopen it.
• On Android, allow the app's Location / Nearby Devices permission.
• GLOWZ and CLIPZ won't appear in the app. They don't use Bluetooth.

No. CLIPZ needs no app and no setup. GLOWZ uses a physical IR remote (included). For HALOZ, RAILZ, CUSTOMZ and SOULZ, the ZENGGE app unlocks 100+ ARGB modes, but every kit also includes an RF 2.4GHz remote for no-phone operation.

Control them from the "My Skates" group, not one controller at a time. If you haven't made a group yet, follow the app setup step on the Getting Started page.

1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the ZENGGE app is installed.
2. Open the app and let it discover both skate controllers.
3. Once you see two controllers, long press the first one and choose "Device Information". Go to "2.4G remote control setting", change it to "Open all remote control", then tap the back arrow until you're at the main screen.
4. Repeat the same steps on the other controller.
5. Test that both units respond to the RF remote in sync.
6. To lock it down, power off both units with the physical power button. Power them back on and, within 5 seconds, hold the "ON" button on the RF remote until you see both units blink 3 times.
7. Now you can control both devices with the RF remote.

RAILZ and HALOZ come pre-configured, so you can skip them. RAILZ is 16 points and 1 segment. HALOZ is 8 points and 2 segments. For SOULZ, set Points to the number of LEDs left on your strip after cutting (the full strip has 43) and leave Segments at 1. Do this on both controllers under Device information › LED Strip Setting.

The IR remote needs line of sight. Aim it straight at the GLOWZ unit from a few feet away. Check that the unit is charged and powered on (short press), and replace the remote's coin battery if needed.

CLIPZ uses CR2032 coin cells lasting 12+ hours. GLOWZ runs 3–6 hours per USB-C charge. HALOZ, RAILZ, CUSTOMZ and SOULZ run 2–6 hours depending on brightness, color and mode.

• About: RAILZ and SOULZ 90 min, HALOZ and GLOWZ 60 min.
• RAILZ, HALOZ and SOULZ: the blue LED blinks while charging and stops when full. The 4 indicator LEDs show battery level (1 = 25%, 2 = 50%, 3 = 75%, 4 = 100%).
• GLOWZ: red while charging, off when full.

• Lower the brightness of the mode you're using.
• Use modes with less white light and fewer active LEDs.
• Use music modes, chasing modes or other sequential LED modes.
• Charge fully before each session.

ARGB (Addressable RGB) controls each individual LED separately, enabling chasing colors, rainbow waves and music-reactive animations. Standard RGB lights all LEDs the same color at once, limited to simple fades and solid colors. All SK8Lytz app-enabled products (HALOZ, RAILZ, CUSTOMZ, SOULZ) use ARGB.

Diffused LEDs: a silicone or opaque cover creates a soft, continuous glow with no individual dots visible. This is what SK8Lytz uses for the clean neon underglow look.

Non-diffused LEDs: individual LED chips are visible as dots. Brighter, but they appear as a series of pinpoints rather than a solid bar of color.

RAILZ, GLOWZ and HALOZ mount under the boot between your trucks, so measure that space before you mount. Mount space needed: RAILZ 2.25" (57mm), GLOWZ 1.4" (36mm), HALOZ 2.6" (66mm) standard or 2.15" (55mm) sideways, SOULZ 2.25" (57mm). Most fit women's size 3 / men's size 4 and up.

Yes. Power on every unit (and connect the RAILZ bars or SOULZ strips) on the bench first. That way you know everything works before you take your skates apart.

Always control them from the "My Skates" group in the ZENGGE app, not the individual controllers. See the app setup steps on the Getting Started page to create the group.

If an integrated tab runs into a plate bolt as you slide the bar in, trim that part of the tab with the included scissors until the bar sits flush. Trim a little at a time.

• Don't cut the strip short. Start long and trim back a little at a time.
• Seat the strip in every clip and check that it follows your skate before you cut anything.
• Don't connect the strip wires before cutting.
• Cut the outer silicone only at your mark, then cut the LED strip at the copper pads.
